Volunteer with Arts For Life
Volunteers are a key component of Arts For Life. Their dedication, expertise, and generosity keep our organization going. We have several different types of volunteers and all are vitally important to Arts For Life.
Arts Volunteers
These volunteers have skills in the arts and in working with children. Our arts volunteers:
- Teach visual arts, creative writing, and music to patients;
- Help organize exhibits of the patients’ artwork;
- Make art kits;
- Help to organize art supply drives;
- Develop lesson plans and activities;
- Lead art workshops for other AFL volunteers, staff, and interns.

Development/Community Volunteers
Our community and development volunteers are invaluable to our work and enable Arts For Life’s funds to go directly to the kids and to our programming.
These volunteers help with:
- Event Planning and implementation;
- Web work (Web Design and Maintenance, creating e-card and online reports);
- Writing (press releases, feature articles, etc.);
- Fundraising/donor development;
- Selling Arts For Life Greeting Cards;
- Work in the Community (Organizing Talks/Presentations, Helping with exhibits/displays of patient artwork, Organizing a house party, art sale, or other small fundraiser);
- Administrative tasks such as stuff envelopes, folding newsletters, etc.
